May news and events

From: Andrew Yeh, ACT Wilsonville Chapter President

Two exciting ACT events in May:

1. ACT would like to invite you to a management roundtable with Wim Appelo.

Wim is the corporate vice president in charge of Paper, Supplies and Supply Chain Operations (PS&SC), and the newly appointed national champion for ACT. PS&SC, a global supply chain organization, is responsible for all aspects of product delivery, including materials procurement, equipment manufacturing, and delivery to customers. Wim received a bachelor’s degree in finance from HEAO, Zwolle, Netherlands and an MBA from Delta Univ., Utrecht, Netherlands. He has been with Xerox for 15 years and currently resides in Rochester, NY.

This informal roundtable is scheduled for next week Thursday, May 4, noon to 1pm, in the Customer Dining Room (Bldg 60, X17). Please feel free to bring your lunch. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

2. ACT is showing a short film titled “American Made” in order to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

Sharat Raju’s “American Made” is a poignant, funny portrait of the age-old conflict between immigrant parents and their Americanized children. The film has claimed 17 international awards, and Sharat appeared in Esquire magazine as one of twenty young film school graduates to watch. The film is made available by the Center for Asian American Media, and will also be shown on PBS’s “Independent Lens”.

Please join us on Wednesday, May 31, 12:00-12:45pm, in the Cyan conference room (Bldg 60, U13). The film is 30 minutes and will be followed by a short discussion. Feel free to bring your lunch.

As always, ACT events are open to the entire Xerox community; both ACT members and non-members are invited.
